Common Threads is recruiting AmeriCorps members

Do you know high school students or parents who would like to improve their communities, get trained as gardeners, cooks, and educators, and get paid for their time?

Common Threads (the nonprofit that gardens, cooks, and eats with Mount Baker Elementary students) is currently recruiting AmeriCorps members to support school gardens and summer educational and nutrition programs.

Full and part-time AmeriCorps service positions are available. Participants receive a stipend that is roughly equivalent to minimum wage and, upon successful completion of their service term, receive an additional education award that may be used to pay off student loans or invest in continued education.

Applicants must be at least 17 years of age and meet AmeriCorps citizenship requirements. Community members of all ages are encouraged to apply ā€“ particularly those interested in supporting the Acme and Kendall elementary school gardens. Spanish and Russian language skills are highly desirable.
