During Nooksack Tribe's Storytelling Sessions in November and December, our Mount Baker Elementary Students were treated to an enchanting storytelling experience.
The Nooksack Tribe shared traditional tales about animals and landmarks in the local area, and stories that have been passed down through generations of the tribe. These stories imparted valuable character building lessons and messages to the K-6th grade students in the audience. The storytellers, Tammy Cooper-Woodrich (Nooksack Tribal Elder), Angela (her daughter), and Elizabeth (her granddaughter), were all exceptional.
Mount Baker School District extends its sincere gratitude to the Nooksack Tribe for sharing these stories and to the generous donor who made the event possible through a donation to the district's elementary library program.
