Weekly Update from the Superintendent

Dear students, staff, families and community,

Mount Baker School District believes in teaching students about their civic duties.  We want to extend that to encourage you all to vote in the upcoming elections.  Your vote counts only if you cast it. Your voice matters!

As we edge into winter it is important to stay informed about any changes to our school and transportation schedules.  This link to School Closures, Inclement Weather, and Transportation will keep you updated when needed.  At this time, we do not have plans to implement remote learning for closures.  If this changes, we will communicate the plans with you.

Fall sports are wrapping up.  Congratulations to all of our student athletes and coaches for a great fall season.  Winter sports are starting next week.  Use this link for more information about athletics.

For a fun family activity, plan to attend the Mount Baker High School Drama Production:  The Revolting Teens of Sherwood.  You can get information about dates, times, and price here.

Congratulations to The Mount Baker FFA Ag Mechanic Team! They leave for the National FFA Convention this Sunday for a week in Indianapolis where they will compete against other teams from across the country.   Drake Pinkey, Case Heutink, Kelsi Anderson, Merrick Kelley, and Wyatt Freeman will represent Mt. Baker and the State of Washington after winning the state competition last April.  Go Baker!

Sincerely,

Mary Sewright, Superintendent
Mount Baker School District
