How do I register for Kindergarten?
You can register online on the Enrollment webpage, under the drop-down How to Enroll & Register:
Follow the directions for New Families if you do not have a child currently enrolled in the district.
Follow the directions for Current Families if you do have a child/children currently enrolled in our district.
If you need help with the online forms or need a printed packet, please call your school. We need to add your child’s name to our list before the end of the current school year in order to prepare for our 2022-23 kindergarten class!
Do I need to attend my child’s Kindergarten Registration Event?
Yes! Our registration event is so much more than filling out forms. It’s a chance to see the school and meet the Kindergarten teachers, the Principal, secretaries, district nurse; find PTA/PTO/community resources and receive a free book from the WCLS library!
New this year: appointments are preferred, but not required. Please contact your school secretary (below) if you’d like to make an appointment!
What should I expect when we arrive?
Check in with the secretaries and they will make sure you have all the information you need. The district nurse will check in with you regarding health concerns and can answer questions about immunizations. “Stations” will be available with school / community resources AND fun activities for your child while you’re taking care of paperwork and questions. Bonus! You and your child will visit a classroom and meet the kindergarten teachers! This will help everyone - students, families, and teachers when it comes time for the first day of school.
What if I am unable to attend?
See above under How to Register - and feel free to contact your school with questions or concerns! Kaye Marshall, MBSD Early Learning Specialist (and former kindergarten teacher!) is also available at kmarshall@mtbaker.wednet.edu or (360) 383-2012.
